Free funnel analytics

The few funnels that matter. And what moved them.

Your backend tells Outcomify when someone signs up, sets up, invites a teammate or pays. You see where people drop off, how long each step takes, and whether it changed for real. Link a step to your opportunity solution tree, and see whether what you shipped moved it.

Free. No SDK, no cookies, no credit card.

Already on Segment or RudderStack? Connect it instead, with no code. It is still server to server.

How it works

One call from your backend. A funnel in a minute.

No tracking plan, no tag manager. Just the steps you already know happened.

01 · SEND

Report a step

When someone reaches a step that matters, your backend sends its name and your id for the person. Repeats are free.

02 · BUILD

Line up the steps

Pick two to eight steps in order and how many days people have to get through. A step can be reached more than one way.

03 · READ

See where they drop off

Conversion, each step’s share of the one before, typical time, and whether the change since last period is real.

04 · CONNECT

Tie it to your tree

Link a step to the opportunity it’s about or the solution meant to move it, and watch the step when it ships.

Server to server

No script on your site. Just the steps that happened.

Your backend already knows when someone created a project or paid. Tell Outcomify then, with a key that can do nothing else.

No SDK, no cookies, no autocapture

Nothing runs in your users’ browsers, so there is no tag to maintain, no ad blocker to lose data to, and no bot traffic in your numbers.

Your id, hashed

Send whatever id your app uses for a person. Outcomify hashes it before storing it, and never needs a name or an email.

Send it as often as you like

Each person counts once per step, at the first time they reached it. Sending the same step again changes nothing.

Bring your history

Add a time to each step, up to 400 days back, and your funnels start with a past to compare against.

Or connect Segment or RudderStack

Point a webhook destination at Outcomify and your funnels fill from the events you already track, no code. Only the events your funnels use are kept.

# when user 123 signs up
curl -X POST https://api.outcomify.com/api/funnels/track \

  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \

Up to 500 steps a call. The Funnels page makes the key and shows this call with it filled in. Send your first steps

What you get back

Where people drop off, and whether it changed.

Every funnel compares its period with the one before it, and says when the difference is too small to mean anything.

Honest about change

A margin of error on every change

Conversion from the first step to the last, against the previous 7, 30 or 90 days. A change smaller than its margin of error is called that, and with fewer than 20 people on either side Outcomify says there are too few people to tell.

Of previous

Each step’s share of the people who reached the step before it, so the leak is easy to find.

Typical time

The median time from the step before: minutes to set up, days to invite, weeks to pay.

Within a window you choose

A later step counts only when it is reached within 1 to 90 days of the first, so old sign-ups don’t flatter today’s numbers.

Steps with alternatives

More than one way to a step

“Set up a project” can mean a template, a blank one or an import. Give a step up to six ways with + or…, name it, and the report splits it: which way each person took, and how many of each went on.

Step trends

Week by week, step by step.

People are grouped by the week they started. Each step's conversion from the one before is drawn week by week, and recent weeks are compared with earlier ones — or, once a linked solution has shipped, the weeks since it with the weeks before.

Finished weeks only

A week counts once its conversion window has passed. Until then it is drawn dashed, so a week still in progress never looks like a drop.

What moved most

A step is coloured only when its change is larger than its margin of error, and the one that moved most is marked.

Before and after a ship

Where a linked solution shipped, the line is marked and the step compares the finished weeks since with the weeks before. Until a week since has finished, it says it is too early to tell.

On your opportunity solution tree

Did what you shipped move the step it was meant to?

An analytics tool shows a line. Outcomify knows what you built and why, so the line sits next to the opportunity it is about and the solutions meant to move it.

Link a step to a node

From an opportunity or a solution’s panel, pick a funnel and the step. The panel shows that step’s trend, and once a solution under the node ships, the step since it against before.

A badge on the canvas

Linked nodes carry the step’s recent conversion on the tree, or its conversion since a solution under them shipped, with an arrow when it moved more than its margin.

An outcome that updates itself

Use a funnel’s conversion, or one step’s, as an outcome’s metric. The number at the root of your tree comes straight from your backend.

Everything else

Small on purpose.

A key that can only send steps

The tracking key can report funnel steps and nothing else in your workspace. Revoke it at any time.

See what arrives

The Funnels page lists every step name received and how many people reached it, and updates by itself while you wire it up.

Define first, send later

Make a funnel before the steps arrive, or build one from what your backend is already sending.

Usage in plain sight

The month’s step records against the free allowance, on the same page.

Made for busy backends

Batches of up to 500, bursts of up to 600 calls, and a 429 with Retry-After you can simply resend.

We use it ourselves

Outcomify’s own activation funnel is counted this way, from our backend to the same endpoint.

Read it back with a key

A key with funnels.read returns your funnels, their reports and step trends, for your own dashboard or warehouse. How to read funnels

Free

Free, within these limits.

  • 10funnels per workspace
  • 2–8steps per funnel, up to 6 ways each
  • 250kstep records a month
  • 400days each person’s steps are kept

A record is one person reaching one step for the first time; repeats are free. Up to 50 different step names per workspace, and 20 calls a second with bursts of 600.

The honest take

When a full analytics tool fits better

If you want to explore everything people do (every click and page view, sessions and replays, retention curves, paths you didn't think to define, or breakdowns by plan, country or device), use a product analytics tool such as Mixpanel, Amplitude or PostHog. Outcomify keeps one row per person per step, so it cannot answer questions about events it never stored, and it doesn't split by properties.

Outcomify's funnels are for teams who want the few numbers that say whether their product works, counted honestly, next to the decisions meant to move them. Plenty of teams use both.

Frequently asked questions

Outcomify key funnels

Free conversion funnels for the few journeys that matter most to your product, such as sign-up to first project to paid. Your backend tells Outcomify when a person reaches a step, and Outcomify shows how many people moved from each step to the next, how long it took, and whether that changed. A step can be linked to the opportunity or solution on your tree it is meant to move.

Those are full analytics tools: they record every event, page view and property, with SDKs, session data and open-ended exploration. Outcomify counts a handful of funnels you choose, from steps your own backend reports, and stores only the first time each person reached each step. In exchange it is free, needs no script on your site, and sits next to the tree where you decide what to build. If you need to explore everything people do, a full analytics tool is the better fit.

No. There is no client-side script, no SDK and no autocapture. Your backend makes one HTTPS call, POST /api/funnels/track with an API key, when a person reaches a step. Any language that can send JSON over HTTPS can do it.

Yes, with no code. Add a webhook destination in Segment or RudderStack that sends your track events to Outcomify, with a tracking key in its Authorization header. It stays server to server. Only events whose name is a step in one of your funnels are kept; the other names are listed so you can build a funnel from them. The help page “Connect Segment or RudderStack” has the steps.

Outcomify sets no cookies and runs nothing in your visitors’ browsers: steps are reported server to server. You send your own id for the person, which Outcomify hashes before storing, so it never keeps the raw id, a name or an email. Whether your own product needs consent for what it measures is still yours to judge.

It’s free, with no credit card. A workspace can have up to 10 funnels of 2 to 8 steps, report up to 50 different step names, and record 250,000 steps a month. A record is one person reaching one step for the first time, so repeats are free. Each step is kept for 400 days after it was last reported for that person.

Yes. Add an “at” time to each step, up to 400 days back, and send them in batches of up to 500. Reports, trends and the period before all count from those times.

Each workspace can make 20 calls a second, with bursts of up to 600. Past that the answer is 429 with a Retry-After header: wait that long and send the same batch again. Sending a step twice is harmless, so nothing is ever counted twice.

Link a funnel step to an opportunity or a solution, and its panel shows that step’s weekly trend with a marker where the solutions under it shipped, while the tree shows the step’s conversion as a small badge on the node. Once one of them has shipped, both compare the finished weeks since it with the weeks before, with a margin of error. A funnel’s conversion can also be an outcome’s live metric. So you can see whether what you shipped moved the step it was meant to move.

Count what matters. See what moved it.

Make a key, send your first step, and line up your funnel. It takes a few minutes and one call.
